Bitcoin
The first blockchain network, and the asset native to it.
Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer payment network launched in 2009 whose ledger is secured by proof of work. Its supply schedule is fixed in software and capped at 21 million coins. Written with a capital B it usually means the network; lowercase, the unit of account.
